I love the look of vintage tattoos but have shied away from getting one so decided to design a range of jewellery that looked to tattoos and a vintage style without being too kitsch. Don't get me wrong I love a pink plastic flamingo as much as the next trailer owner (I have a 1961 Airstream) but I think jewellery should be made for keeping. All pieces are scribed onto a sheet of metal and then cut using a piercing saw. The shapes are refined with files and sand papers and then the small star elements are soldered to the wings. Oxides are then cleaned off the surface by imersing in a warm safety pickle. Attachments are added and the handmade pendant is attached to a silver chain, voila, your own set of wings!
